Daddy and Trev-buddies forever!

These 2 guys are such a great combo...two blessings in my life! Dan is such a fun loving guy who enjoys "playing" just as much as Trevor does. He and Trevor also appear to have the same diversion to cameras. I either catch both of them not looking at the camera or smiling so large their eyes close (as is the case with TREVOR in this photo). Tonight, Trev was all about helping Daddy grill the "chops". (Trev thought it was hilarious to call them "chops"). They also de husked the corn together. I adore watching Trevor imitate and attempt to do everything the same way his dad does. This is one of my favorites. Dan was basking in the sun today, in the kiddie pool with his arms behind his head and feet hanging over the edge of the pool. (truth be known he resembled in a huge way his father)! Trevor also assummed the same position, except his legs were not long enough to be able to even touch the edge of the pool. So the brillant little guy scooted himself to the edge of the pool and hung his legs over the edge which as you can guess made the rest of himself go below the water. It was so hilarious! I am so thankful to have these 2 guys in my life and even more thankful they have each other. Thanks GOD!

Day Lilies

Here is a picture of the day lilies in my backyard. I love the vibrant colors and how tall they get. These fun flowers were in full bloom when we took Trevor home from the hospital 3 years ago already! It is amazing to me to how they emerge from the ground as little green leaves and then grow into these almost 5 foot tall stalks (:-)) suddenly buds appear and them wham...this beautiful flower year after year explodes with bright oranges and reds. I love color, I am so thankful God decided to make colors....can you even imagine the world just black and white?

Another reason I enjoy day lilies so much is because at my sisters wedding a friend brought to the ceremony a vase of day lilies and told us both that our mom gave her a transplant of these very day lilies 20 years earlier. She shared with us how they remind her of our mom every year they bloom. She told us how much our mom loved to garden. We both were so glad she shared this memory with us. So each year as they day lilies reach to the sky I am reminded of two very special pepople: my mom and Trevor.

Wakeboarding

These pics are worth a thousand words to me and probably a thousand attempts to Trevor. If you look closely you will notice that his success incorporated moving to shallower waters. Intutive thinking there buddy. The joy on his face brings a giant smile to me as well! It is so fun that he enjoys the water so much. It is also a comfort to see him using his persistant/determined personality in this postive way. Ahh, the days of playing in the water, enjoying Gods creation and each other. Thanks God for all the fun we had "wakeboarding"!

To blog or not to blog?

Hmmm...that seems like a reoccurring question running through my mind these days. Why, because I absolutely love reading other peoples, however I'm a bit hesitant to share my poor writing and spelling skills with ya'll, I could also be found guilty for wasting lots of time reading blogs or surfing the web, yet it seems a bit like therapy, maybe even accountability in a way and at the same time a super fun way for my family and friends to have sneak peek into our home. So, for now I will just keep on adding posts to Painted Toe Nails and maybe someday I will make this public. Any tips on cutting and pasting blog entries from my other blog? I can't seem to figure it out? So, in answer to my question....yeah alright let the good times roll: lets blog! :-)

Why painted toes nails?

Welcome to Painted Toes Nails....why this name you ask? Well, my darling son Trevor decided today was a super day to paint his toe nails while I was in the shower. I have been trying to come up with a name for my first "public" blog and was a tad stumped on a catchy name. Well, thank you Trevor...Painted Toe Nails it is.
